How to install Drain-Plus on a split system |

Typical Installation Instructions |

Step 1 |
Note how the main and auxiliary drain fittings stick outside of the air handler panel.
If yours are recessed, please refer to Step 5 |

Step 2 |
Attach 90 deg male NPT— slip fitting to the auxiliary drain fitting as shown |

Step 3 |
Install one Drain-Plus unit into the slip end of the elbow.
Drain-Plus should be inside of the drain pan as shown. |

Step 4 |
Attach a male NPT thread — slip fitting to the main drain fitting. |

Step 5 |
If your air handler drain fittings are recessed, you can use the fittings shown and 90 deg street elbows to achieve the same results as steps 2 & 4.
Install the short threaded fitting and a 90 deg street elbow on the auxiliary drain fitting.
Install the long threaded fitting and a 90 deg street elbow on the main drain fitting. |

Step 6 |
Attach a 90 deg elbow, a short piece of pipe, and another 90 deg elbow to the main drain line. |

Step 7 |
Run your main drain piping outside and down the wall. |

|
Step 8 |
Install Drain-Plus to the end of the main drain line on the outside of the house.
Try to leave a female slip fitting at the end of your pipe run. If not, you can easily use a coupler. |
